  • Locate the jaws of the pliers on the ears of the clip
  • Squeeze the pliers together to close the jaws - this opens the clip
  • Remove or install the clip on the pipe
  • Slightly squeeze the pliers to release pressure on the ratchet
  • Press the ratchet lock and release the pliers
