AST6231 Exhaust Hanger Pliers assist in the removal of rubber mounting bushes found in the exhaust system.

Petrol and Diesel systems are suspended from the vehicle by rubber mounting bushes which act as dampers when the vehicle is in motion.

Over time, thermal cycles within the exhaust system cause the rubber mounts to become hardened and fused to the steel hanging hooks of the exhaust and vehicle body, making them very difficult to remove.

AST6231 is designed to simplify the removal of the rubber mounts, contributing to a more controlled and time-saving removal process.

The tool works by locating on to the end of the steel mounting hook with the support plate positioned behind the rubber mounting bush. The steel hook is then pressed through the mounting bush by closing the jaws of the tool.

This tool is universally applicable to all types of vehicles including hybrids (HEV, MHEV and PHEV).
